Mev Dominguez Valentin

Mev Dominguez ValentinDr Mev Dominguez Valentin has a BSc degree from the San Marcos University in Lima (Peru) in 2002, a MSc in Sciences from Sao Paulo University (Brazil) in 2005 and a PhD in Oncology from AC Camargo Hospital (Brazil). She started her first postdoc at the Molecular Laboratory in Clermont-Ferrand (France) in 2010.

From 2011-2014, she completed her second postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Oncology, Institute of Clinical Sciences, Lund University (Sweden) and the Danish HNPCC Register, Hvidovre Hospital (Denmark). Currently, she is working at the Institute for Cancer Research from Oslo University Hospital in Oslo, Norway.

Since 2006, Mev has coordinated hereditary colorectal cancer studies and research in South America and last year, they increased their research area to include Latin America and Europe. More than 40 publications have been generated and currently, she is curator of the Prospective Lynch Syndrome Database (PLSB).

The long-term goals of her research project is to contribute to refined diagnosis, risk estimates, targeting therapeutics in cancer with the aim to delineate tumor characteristics that may contribute to refined diagnostics and optimized tumor prevention. She is thoroughly interested in molecular technical developments, bioinformatics and translational medicine.

She is a member of InSIGTH, Human Variome Project Consortium (HVPC), InSIGHT, ENIGMA Consortium, International Mismatch Repair Consortium (IMRC), Society for Natural Immunity and International Study Group on Hereditary Tumors (GETH).
